Saturday and Sunday: 10 am-5 pm

Featured Performances:

At the heart of the Pittsburgh International Children's Festival you will discover amazing theater developed around the world for young audiences. This year the Festival will showcase performers from the Netherlands, Italy, Canada, the Republic of the Congo, Spain, and the USA. Performances will open childrens' eyes to the global community through theater, puppetry, music, dance, comedy, multimedia, acrobatics, and much more!

 

Location:

It is our second year in a new site centered in the green spaces and theaters in Oakland, home of the University of Pittsburgh and Schenley Plaza. The featured performances will be held in several venues all within walking distance, including the Studio Theatre in the Cathedral of Learning, the Charity Randall Theatre in the Stephen Foster Memorial, the Carnegie Lecture Hall, the Bellefield Hall Auditorium, and Synod Hall at St. Paul Cathedral. The Festival grounds will be located on the University of Pittsburgh's Cathedral of Learning lawn, Schenley Plaza and the Carnegie Library Bosque.

Carnegie Lecture Hall (Mister Rogers’ Neighbors) Located at 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.  The entrance is on Schenley Drive Extension, facing Schenley Plaza.  

Target Community Stage

The Target Community Stage is located in Schenley Plaza under the round tent. Tickets are not required for performances on the Target Community Stage.

How to Order:

On Site Box Office

The on site Festival box office is located at the log cabin, next to the Stephen Foster Memorial, Forbes Avenue, at the University of Pittsburgh. All will call tickets will be held at this location for pick up on day of performance.

Hours: Located at the log cabin at the Univ. of Pittsburgh, at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Schenley Drive Extension adjacent to Stephen Foster Memorial.

Study Guides:

Educators/Group Leaders receive a complimentary study guide for each show purchased. Study guides will be mailed with your group ticket pass.

Convenient Drop-Off and Parking:

Drop-off areas and free bus parking are provided. Ample parking for other vehicles is available throughout the Oakland area, including but not limited to space in the Soldiers and Sailors Parking Lot, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History Parking Lot, and metered spaces surrounding the Festival grounds. Many Port Authority bus lines also stop near the Festival.

 

Ensuring the Festival is Accessible:

A limited number of tickets are available for groups that work with underserved children through donations to Tickets for Kids Charities.  Visit ticketsforkidsfoundation.org or call 412-781-KIDS for more information and eligibility rules.

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust’s Department of Education and Community Engagement offers bus subsidies to underserved districts to attend the festival through the program Get Here Bus Subsidies.  The program is sponsored by Merrill Lynch and Sunoco.  Call 412-471-6079 or e-mail education@pgharts.org for more information.
